Trinity CommunicationsDecember 14, 2018

The winter ’18 issue of Trinity Magazine started reaching mailboxes in mid-December. Here’s a brief glance at what’s inside:

    • “Twenty Key Accomplishments of the Dockery Administration”
—As an institution, Trinity has embarked on some significant opportunities during the administration of President David S. Dockery. Some initiatives bear fruit almost immediately, while others take a longer time to develop. In light of Trinity’s forthcoming presidential transition, this article focuses on both kinds of those initiatives, tracing some significant years in the recent history of Trinity International University.
    • “David S. Dockery: ‘Keep the Light Burning’”
—In 18 years as president, Dockery presided over growth that took Union University from a small denominational school with a regional influence to a nationally recognized evangelical university. In his five years as president of Trinity, he has led faithfully, bringing stability to a declining enrollment and initiating a far-reaching strategic plan that has resulted in numerous improvements during that half-decade of leadership. This article highlights the significance and impact Dockery’s career has had on Christian higher education.
    • “How Human Will Our Future Be?”
—The Center for Bioethics & Human Dignity answers this question with BioethicsNEXT, a series of strategic priorities with the express intent to equip a new generation of thought leaders in the church and the academy. For 25 years, CBHD has borne witness to the enduring strength and ongoing need for a decidedly Christian bioethics, and, according to Executive Director Paige Comstock Cunningham, “we aim to do so well into the future with a comprehensive strategy poised to meet the rapid changes in biomedicine and biotechnology head-on.”
