Trinity CommunicationsJanuary 24, 2017
A star among young classical musicians, concert organist Nathan Laube has quickly earned a place among the organ world’s elite performers. Laube will perform on the Casavant pipe organ in the ATO Chapel on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for the concert, part of The Helen Smith Richard Organ Recital Series at Trinity, by calling 847-317-8021 or buying at the door. Tickets for members of the Trinity community are $5, while general admission prices are $12 for adults and $8 for students and seniors.
In addition to his busy performing schedule, Mr. Laube serves as Assistant Professor of Organ at The Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York, where he teaches with distinguished professors David Higgs and Edoardo Bellotti. His extensive recital career includes major venues spanning four continents, with a 2017 concert schedule including performances at the Meyerson Concert Hall in Dallas, TX, Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, and St. Paul’s Cathedral in London.
Mr. Laube has two CD recordings, the Stephen Paulus Grand Concerto on the Naxos label recorded with the Nashville Symphony, Giancarlo Guerrero, conducting, which received a Grammy Award for Best Classical Compendium; and a new solo recital recording on the Ambiente label, recorded at the Stadtkirche in Nagold, Germany. In addition, many of Mr. Laube’s live performances have been featured on American Public Media’s “Pipedreams.”
Nathan is frequently asked to teach master classes and workshops in connection with his concerts, and often serves on the faculty for Pipe Organ Encounters in the USA – clinics presented by The American Guild of Organists designed to introduce young keyboardists to the pipe organ and its vast repertoire.
The Helen Laverne Smith Richard organ recital series is made possible through generous contributions by the Richard family, in loving memory of their wife and mother.
