Trinity Law School National Moot Court Winners
Trinity Law School students Sadara Mayhan and Viviana Escobar earned awards for their achievements during the National and Western Regionals of the National Black Law Students Association Frederick Douglass Moot Court Competition.
As a team competing against 20 teams from law schools across eight western states, Ms. Mayhan and Ms. Escobar placed second only to the team from UCLA’s School of Law and garnered two of just three Individual/Brief Awards presented during the competition in January:
- Best Petitioner Brief: Trinity Law School (Mayhan & Escobar)
- Best Oral Advocate: Viviana Escobar
At the National Competition held last week in Washington, D.C., the team received the award for Best Petitioner Brief, beating out 18 other teams from across the country—including teams from Penn, Columbia, Washington and Lee, University of Texas, and UCLA.
