Join the TIU community for Asian Heritage Festival Week, April 15-19! A wide variety of events will be taking place on campus; see below for descriptions and location information.
April 15- Monday- Tea Time – Lantern Lounge (7PM)
The Asian community is made up of many different people groups, but the one thing that holds most of them in common is tea. Help us kick off Asian Heritage Week by celebrating the customs and enjoying the fellowship of tea time, Monday April 15th at 7PM in the Lantern Lounge.
April 17- Wednesday – Karaoke/Game Night – Melton Hall (7PM)
Come out and enjoy an evening of fun and community. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy karaoke singing, games, and Korean BBQ! Join us in Melton Hall at 7PM.
April 21- Sunday- Church Visit (10:15AM)
No heritage week is complete without experiencing worship that is drenched in rich heritage and cultural traditions. Join us as we attend a service at International Christian Assembly of God 9628 W. Irving Park, Schiller Park, IL where the Rev. George K. Stephenson is the pastor.
Entire Week- April 15-19 ATO Chapel
This week’s chapel services are packed with excitement! Join us Monday as we hear from Felix Theonugraha, Dean of Student for Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and Trinity Graduate School. On Tuesday & Wednesday,Peter Hong, pastor of New Community Covenant Church of Chicago, IL will be speaking. You don’t want to miss chapel on Friday, because there will be performances by Chicago Korean Dance Company (CKDC). CKDC helps to promote Korean cultural through various traditional dance performances with the hopes of connecting and uniting with other cultures. CKDC presents excellence in Korean dance, making efforts towards the prevention of the loss of Korean culture in the U.S.

Books of Asian Interest on Reserve in the Library: During the month of April, the Rolfing Library will have a special selection of books on display on the front book shelves. Pick up one and enjoy the read!
