Welcome (Back), Students!

HompageATO

Welcome to all new and returning students to campus for the 2012–13 academic year! If you are new to the TIU community and need details on New Student Orientation, please review the following links and information.

NSO—Undergraduate

We encourage undergraduate students to make TIU their home by participating in the 1st 40 Days initiative. For the first 40 days of the semester, students are encouraged to be intentional about being a part of the Trinity community, to avoid making trips home if possible, and to being a part of campus life. Several special campus events will be taking place during this time period that will help students make TIU their home! More information will be made available.

NSO—TEDS & Graduate School

You will also be invited to participate in a new Worship and Commissioning Service in which our current Faculty will be blessing our incoming students for the journey ahead. Also make plans to attend the Charitable Dialogue, which is outlined below.

Returning Students

If you are a returning student, welcome back! Look for more information on academics and upcoming activities on the University calendar.

Kick-Off Events to Remember
  • Thursday, August 16, at 5:30 p.m., behind Ludwigson
“Free BBQ” for all residents on campus. Geared for families as well as our resident halls. It will include a bounce house, volleyball, and more.
  • Monday, August 20, from 10:30 a.m.–12 p.m.
A “Charitable Dialogue” focusing on health care. Both new and returning students are invited to participate not merely to satisfy one’s interest in the topic itself, but to witness the demonstration of a charitable approach to discussing difficult and polarizing topics.
  • Thursday, August 30, from 4–8 p.m., on the Waybright Lawn
Dorm Wars Tailgate: featuring live music, games, face- and t-shirt-painting, and inflatable games. It’s the grand finale of the 1st 40 Days initiative, and is put on by the Residence Life staff.
